Last week the 7th and 8th grade Spanish classes celebrated The Day of the Dead or El Día de los Muertos! Some of our cultural activities included tasting "Pan de Muerto" or Day of the Dead bread, decorating the classroom with "calacas" or skulls, decorating ceramic magnet skulls for students to bring home, and bringing in candles, flowers and picture memories for our altar and offering. The day of the dead is a cultural celebration of life, where we remember those who have passed and is celebrated in various Spanish-speaking countries. Take a look at our Día de los Muertos celebration in Spanish class!
