This week in Spanish class the 7th graders participated in a staged phone conversation with a random classmate. Students prepared possible questions and answers ahead of time and were then asked to have their phone conversation in front of the class in an “improv” setting. Students used various telephones during this activity while pretending to have a real phone conversation between a foreign exchange student and host student. Students were graded on their questions and answers, as well as their ability to keep the conversation going using ONLY SPANISH. Take a look!

On Saturday, a group of athletes from Fairview participated in the Track & Field Clinic and Mini Meet at Niles West High School. First, the junior high athletes warmed-up with the high school athletes and coaches by going through a typical routine that is done at the beginning of each practice. Afterwards, the students had the opportunity to travel around to stations for training from coaches on various running and field events. The stations included shot put, long jump, pole vault, hurdles, block starts for sprinting, and high jump. At the end of the clinic, the students participated in a mini-meet of running events, which included the 50 meter, 200 meter, and 800 meter distances. Fairview did a great job representing our school at this event and we look forward to seeing you all at the outdoor Track & Field meet in May!
