We took a guided tour of the State Capitol and saw the Governor's office and where the Senate and House meet. The Senate was in session and we got to see our own Senator Silverstein propose a bill to the Senate!
Our first stop on our Springfied trip was to Lincoln's New Salem State Historic Site. Students walked through a reconstruction of the village where Abraham Lincoln spent his early childhood. The sun is out and we are ready for a fun packed day!
On the Friday before Spring Break, the 8th grade boys and girls basketball teams played against the teachers for a Falcon-Fossil challenge! It was a fun-filled afternoon for all as the Fossils solidified their position with a 4 point victory! In addition, Ms. Qureshi led a group of teachers kick-off the half time show with a "Swedish Falls" stunt along with dancing and the Falcon Cheer squad concluded the routine. The green button below will take you to more photos from the event (courtesy of Mr. Sibell).
