On Wednesday, February 15, Fairview Middle School "Unplugged" from Technology for a day of learning, service, and fun! In the morning, the students put together Care Bags for the homeless through donations provided by their current and past teachers. The 7th grade students made inspirational notes for the bags and organized the donations. The 8th grade students assembled the bags in stations and then boxed them up! The students were so involved in this project and expressed how much they loved being a part of it. We were able to make 75 bags to donate!! This is amazing and we know those who are less fortunate will greatly appreciate them. In the afternoon, students were able to choose between two break-out sessions. Activities included a "French Reading Cafe," game room, exercise group, trivia contest, "Silent Ball" tournament, arts and crafts, bracelet making, and the creation of bookmarks! We ended the day with making our own ice cream sandwiches. Check out some pictures from the day below! |
